Summer Limbo

Alright, so not much is going on currently. Today is the last day of finals for everyone (seniors, I mean) and nothing is really happening. I'm currently tormented by lack of sleep due to my allergies to spring, summer, and probably pollen of some sort. Boredom also sucks.

Wednesday I start work with Dad. I figure I'll get about 20 hours per week, more or less depending on factors over which I have no control. Working will give me something to do other than sitting at home all day long and reading. And I won't use gas going places, Dad will pay for my meals, and I'll get paid for driving several hours each day. The money will be nice, too, but I'm currently content with people sending me cards with money in them saying "Congratulations! We're so proud of you! Keep up the good work!"; all I have to do is write a thank you note and I'm covered. Not bad, if you ask me.

Now, for those of you who might care, I'll recap my weekend. Friday I went to Sadie with Meredith. The dance, although it had a cool theme [80's] and a live band, sucked due to a low attendance of people that I actually like and the fact that the sub-theme [The Birth of Hip-Hop] eliminated the possibility of good music. And the Puckett's guy is apparently brain-dead, but I'll let Meredith tell you about that one. We left the dance at 9:30 (we got there at 8:30) and got ICEEs and watched Happy Gilmore. That was fun.

Saturday...what did I do? I think I came to the library...and I cut the grass and finished reading my latest book [Skinny Legs and All by Tom Robbins]. And I bought some gummy bears from Wal-Mart.

Sunday I woke up and went to Meredith's to walk the dogs. Trudy peed on herself when I went to pick her up from her bed because she was being weird and wouldn't go outside. Fun fun fun. Sunday night I sat and watched TV for five hours. Why? To allow my brain to rot, of course. After Animation Domination I simply had no will to turn the TV off, so I channel surfed.

My life is exciting, isn't it? No, not really, but it actually gets to be enjoyable (for me) when we've emerged from this state of limbo that isn't quite school and isn't quite summer.

By the way, don't swim at Holly Beach. They have poo-poo germs in the water (are you really surprised?). I'm going to go now.
