Okay, so Baton Rouge got the left side of Hurricane Katrina and thousands of evacuees. Aaaand...got the kind of...brushing as Hurricane Rita blew across the Louisiana coast last night. Our basement stairwell began flooding. Anyway, the eye went right across Lake Charles.Yeah, where I'm from. wonderful, hm? Amber(my roomate) is from Nederland, TX, which also got hit really hard. Her family is in Eunice, but they know that the bank where her dad works had its windows blown out.
So...Dad has some trees blown over and some branches fell. Nothing bad.
Mom, however, lost several shingles. That, in turn, let in water, which soaked through the insulation and caused the ceiling to cave in in the living room. The ceiling is also leaking in her bedroom and Logan's bedroom...so she's sleeping in my room. Plus, our backyard fence is destroyed. Mom said she'd send me pictures, but she hasn't had power since 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon.
Adam's uncle said he just drove by Adam's house and saw they had several shingles gone. No news on Kevin's house. Actually, no news on anybody's house. Whenever anybody receives information, let me know.
