last weekend
So not much has been happening (I've been working A LOT)...but today was this week's day off. Tomorrow I work from 7:15 until "whenever" or "?" so...I'm hoping earlier than 3.Anyway, last Saturday, I worked from 7:30-12:00. At 1, Adam, Kevin, and I set off for Shreveport. We went through Texas (Kevin's choice...ask him why, I can't remember). Kevin began the driving. He drove for two hours and then Adam took over. Adam was like, "I LOVE DRIVING THESE ROADS!!" and uh...basically drove the last three hours of the trip. We went there to Moviesauce Film Festival...which was in part run by our friend Dylan (who lived across the hall from Kevin in East Laville). So anyway, we got there and went into the hotel. Kevin got a key and Adam got a key to the room. So, of course, I had to take one and put it in the door and the green light on the thing worked, but then the door wouldn't open. So we tried again like 10 or 15 more times and it finally opened. We went in and unpacked, etc...then went to the film festival thing. We saw a short about umm...zombies...and then a feature about Japanese hosts. It was interesting, just pretty long. At this time, it was about 11:30...so we went back to the hotel and tried to open the door. It wouldn't open with either key and we stood there for like 15 minutes trying to open the stupid thing. So we went downstairs to the lobby to complain and the lady reentered the room code. So we went back upstairs and the stupid keys still didn't work. Eventually, the door opened. Finally. So we played super smash brothers until 3 am. We then went to sleep...Adam in one bed, me in the other, and Kevin on the floor. Haha...poor kevin. He was supposed to sleep on the air mattress that he brought, but it was uncomfortable or something. The two boys woke up at like 9:30 or 10:00 and they woke me up at 10:30. I took a shower...and then we all played super smash brothers until 11:30. (don't you like how we drove five hours to play ssbm in a hotel room?) We loaded our stuff in the car and checked out...then went to Wendy's for lunch and went to the festival. Watched 2 shorts and a "40 minute short." We then decided that we didn't feel like seeing anymore of the festival (we thought that it would be like...dylan's friends movies, but it was like...stuff shown at sundance.) so we actually called dylan (he didn't know we were in town) and said, "so uh, does shreveport have a zoo?" because we wanted to go there. He was like, "um...there's a wildcat exhibit...why?" and we were like, "well, we're here...and feel like looking around the city" and he was like, "oh, let's meet for coffee." He directed us to a little restaurant place...I had a pancake to eat...adam had a breakfast thing...dylan and lindsay(his girlfriend) had like...coffee and some fries...and kevin had 2 pancakes. we then left to go home. Adam drove the first 1/3, I drove the 2nd, and Kevin finished. We took the Louisiana route this time...so yay! I'm going to post pictures on facebook sometime. We have weird ones from like...middle of nowhere texas where we got out and took pictures by the side of the road (and some in the middle of the road). and a few by a haircutting place called "Curl Up and Dye" because that is such a sad name.
