-I begin to feed and care for a red-tailed hawk tomorrow! I am so excited!
-We're into the double-digits in the countdown until summer (96 days including weekends, holidays, etc)
-MARDI GRAS IS SOON!
-AS IS THE SUPERBOWL! (and Kevin and I may go to New Orleans for the weekend!)
-went to the Farmer's Market today and bought lovely grapefruit and broccoli. yum yum yum.

Not Cool Things:
-I still haven't had a piece of king cake and Mardi Gras is in two weeks.
-um, the wedding is four months away? wait, what? where has my year and a half to plan gone?
-I do still have 96 days left of school. ew.
-Neuroscience test on Tuesday. Anatomy practical on Thursday.

I may start updating this again...well...or I could be saying that because I'm (trying) to study for a biochem test on thursday and this is a decent distraction. Wouldn't you people like to hear about vet school? I'm sure you would! I wonder how easy it is to upload a pic from my phone straight to this blog. do you know? hmmm...well...will pick this up again soon, (really. except that I actually do need to study because I have a quiz friday and tests on thursday and friday)

It's interesting how often "religious" people are ignorant people. I'm not lumping all religious people into a group of ignorant people, but I just find it interesting how many people enjoy not questioning and mindlessly following. Just a thought. (Has a source, but don't want to point it out) I also get really annoyed with people who blindly follow (and vote) with one political party. I realize that if you belong to a party, then you will have certain values and will generally support that party's candidate, but I hate the people who are like, "I'm a [Republican or Democrat] so I'm voting for [McCain or Obama]" without really knowing the candidate's approach to issues. Just voting for them because they are that party's candidate. annoying.

So I went to New Orleans last Tuesday and flew to Bermuda on Wednesday. It was a really fun vacation. Bermuda was much more expensive than I knew, but I really enjoyed exploring the country. We went to Hamilton, St. George's, the Dockyard, Horseshoe Bay, etc. The "Bermuda pink sand" was lovely and the water was amazingly clear. It always surprises me to see the beautiful clear water at the shore turn into turquoise then bright blue as it gets deeper. It is very pretty and I took lots of pictures of the ocean.

Mom is moving to Dallas around August 15, so I'm going to quit work a few days before that. I think (?) we're going to have a garage sale the weekend before that. I'm going to Baton Rouge the first weekend of August and Kevin and I are going to drive up to Shreveport on Monday the 4th for a wedding on the 5th. so that's exciting.

I should be back in Baton Rouge sometime during the week of the 15 (though at the beginning of that week, I'll be in Dallas helping mom move into the new house) and LSU starts on the 25th. this summer went pretty quickly and it's amazing how all of my weekends seem full.

Hey!! So how are your summers going??

Let's begin with the job situation. I found a couple of jobs...I am just waiting for them to begin. I am working at Arts Camp (the one at S.J...that pretty much everybody went to..I went for 3 years) as an assistant. I don't know what subject that I am assisting with, but I put down that I wanted to work with kids in grades K-2 and my preferential subjects were: 1) Ceramics, 2) Photography, and 3) Mosaic. Not that I know anything about Mosaic. I thought it sounded interesting...

Anyway, I am also working at my uncle's veterinary clinic again this summer. I didn't think that I would be doing that because I thought all of the jobs were taken, but then he offered me to begin next week. so I start tuesday.

I am making a cake tomorrow for the Great American Bake Sale. I got a star-shaped cake pan and things like that...will post a picture of it when I'm done. whoo.

Going to see Sex and the City with Robin tomorrow. I'm enjoying all of these good movies coming out this summer.

Kelli, when are you coming home from...Oregon, right? not stalking you on xanga or anything...heh...

I got a friday5 set of questions from here and decided to fill out the answers. Even though it's Tuesday. Oh well. tuesday5 it is, then.

What's your favourite TV network? Food Network
If you could create your own channel, what would it be? A combination of Food Network Shows [Ace of Cakes, Good Eats, Food Network Challenge, Iron Chef, etc] and shows about Broadway. Also, late at night, my network would change (kind of like nickelodeon changing to nick-at-nite) to show good older shows like: I Love Lucy, The Brady Bunch, The Cosby Show, Roseanne, Full House, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, etc. Pretty much like Nick-at-Nite minus the crappy shows that they show constantly. I like movies, but I'd try to shy away from them because I hate it when you miss the beginning and can't watch the rest of the movie when you missed the first 15 minutes. Oh, and I'd also have random marathons of Hey Arnold! and Doug. ooooh, and Dirty Jobs, Mythbusters, The Office, Project Runway, Top Chef, and Flight of the Conchords. My tv channel would be combining good shows from other networks, I guess.
What TV show did you watch as a child, that you wish they would bring back? Hey Arnold and Doug...and Muppet Babies. yeeeeah!
What show have you always hated, and wonder why they ever made such a dumb show? ...people will hate me for this, but Ren and Stimpy. I always hated that one and could never understand how people could watch that crap.
What TV show's seasons would you buy on DVD? let's see...I already own several seasons of: Degrassi: the Next Generation, The [British] Office, House, Sex and the City, Scrubs, and Flight of the Conchords. Really want networks to make DVD sets of Doug and Hey Arnold (I know, I'm obsessed. I really miss those shows and want to watch them again!!) Also want to buy the sets of the (American) Office.

I cannot believe that it is three weeks left until summer. I still have a lot to do in school...including reading a book about Imperialism for History.

I figured that I would spend my summer working at the animal clinic again, but I'm having second thoughts now. I was looking at the Baton Rouge Zoo website and also the BREC website and thinking about working at either the zoo or in summer camps with kids in Baton Rouge. I am going to call tomorrow to find out information regarding jobs. I'm really excited, actually.

Sephora opened up right next to the Apple Store at the Mall of Louisiana. I already spent half of my paycheck there and signed up to be a "Beauty Insider." Good thing the Mall of Louisiana isn't that close to LSU's campus. Otherwise I'd be in real trouble.

I like to think everything is kind of winding down, but it's more like everything is speeding up in that final push before summer. three more weeks! have a good one,

Hi, Happy April Fool's Day! Not much to update about...

LSU Women's Basketball team made their Fifth Straight Final Four, which is insanely awesome and I continue to be very proud of my school.

So yeah...I took a ridiculously difficult Developmental Psyc test today. Hopefully the grade isn't bad...I was pleasantly surprised about the first test. Scheduled on Sunday for next semester...the spring poultry judging contest begins tomorrow at LSU and the Spring Testers are also coming for the rest of the week...which is always cute.

Didn't make vet school. but that's okay..I'm okay with it. I can get a degree in Poultry Science in December and [hopefully] get a double major in Psychology in May. I wish I had taken Psyc 2000 earlier so that I could've begun on working towards a double major earlier, though. The problem with the PSYC department is that they schedule all of their classes at the same time. I'll be like, "I need these...3 classes...all offered at one time. 9-10:30 Tuesdays and Thursdays. wait. what?" lame.

Trying to convince mom to go on a cruise to northern europe. I've found two with similar itineraries:

First of all...Happy Valentine's Day...yay.

So I'm blogging because I'm mad at my stupid apartment complex. I got back from work at about 4:30 and saw a piece of paper on my door. I open it and it says "Contract Violation" and they had checked off "Unauthorized Pet." So I'm pretty confused because I definitely signed Edgar up to live here, too...and he's randomly unauthorized.

WELL. I read the comments they wrote. No kidding, it definitely says, "You have 24 hours to remove your large dog."

Does this look like a large dog to you?
Yeah, it's like a twelve pound cat.

So I'm like, "maybe they got the apartment wrong." No, they have my apartment number and my name written. I basically just walked to the office and was like, "uh. you say I have a large dog....and I don't. I have a cat and we signed him up and paid the extra fee for him." and the girl there was just like, "oh...? well, I'll leave a note for the manager." I mean, stupid people! you obviously didn't even go into the apartment or open the door or anything. plus I'm sure edgar's deep, resonant barking is keeping people up at night. the only, ONLY thing that I could think of to make them think that I did in fact have a dog was the fact that my idiotic cat likes to run around and hit walls at about 3 in the morning. But seriously. If I had a large dog as in, say, a rottweiler or a great dane...or even a lab, trust me. you'd know.

I seriously wanted to bring Edgar into the office, throw him in her face, and go, "Here's your large dog."

Hello to anyone still reading this. I know that I haven't updated in an extremely long time...

since then, a few things have happened...

first and foremost, LSU won the BCS National Championship game in New Orleans 38-24 against Ohio State. Yay!!! Geaux Tigers!!!! So proud.

Also...there was Christmas...so Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

I can't really remember much else happening. I went home and enjoyed my break. Saw lots of people so that was happy. I came back to LSU on Friday and classes begin tomorrow.

I'm going to Atlanta from January 23-25 for my job (Poultry Science Convention). Mardi Gras is coming up in the first week of February and I'm going to the Endymion Ball again with mom and my aunt and uncle. It should be fun. Also, Logan's wedding is in a little less than a month...February 9 in Dallas. So it's going to be a busy couple of months.

I hope that everyone has a great spring semester and hopefully I will update before it's over :) Bye!

Hey, how has everybody been?

Thanksgiving was okay...pretty uneventful. I went to Dad's wife's parents' house on the actual day of Thanksgiving and got to eat food with a bunch of people that I sort of knew, but not really that well. Spent the night at dad's, didn't really feel like waking up to shop on friday so I woke up late [as usual], watched lsu lose to arkansas...and...went back to mom's...

bleh about lsu. we're playing tennessee in the sec championship this saturday, so geaux tigers for that!!

Anyway. I had Thanksgiving with Mom on Saturday and we went to her mom's house, but mom cooked everything. really good...I looooooove sweet potatoes. I got her to make a double batch so that I could have lots of leftovers for this week.

Been putting off a statistics project that is due monday...reeeeeeally don't want to start that. sucks. a lot.

everything has been fine lately, I guess. My sleep patterns have been getting worse and worse...a week ago, I saw the sunrise and that pretty much made me feel terrible because I had been trying to go to bed for awhile. eh, well, whatever now. I'll try going to bed earlier sometime.

Okay, so I'm posting for Adam...because he said I should post and then he said, "goodnight, lovely!" and I'm a sucker for things like that. haha...[things like that=flattery]

so yeah, I last posted like two weeks ago. What has happened since then? Well...I've been...going to class. I had tests yesterday and today and I'm going to have one monday and one on tuesday. which sucks...a lot.

so lsu was in the #2 spot for awhile, but then ohio state lost to unranked illinois...and we were only barely first in front of oregon...who just lost tonight to unranked arizona!! Yes!! We're playing Ole Miss on Saturday in Oxford and next week we're playing Arkansas for the traditional day after Thanksgiving game. GEAUX TIGERS!! Whoo!!

hey adam, did you know that nick invited me to your recital thing this weekend? so I'm totally going. someone should've invited me himself, though, hm? haha :)

So next week in Thanksgiving- FINALLY!! I'm so ready to like...not go to statistics lab...and...be at home...and eat lots of good food. yum, definitely looking forward to it.

Yeah, so really, not much has been happening. I've been pretty lazy for the past few weeks, so...call? get me out of the apartment.

Currently reading The Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton...the very little that I've read so far has been good, albeit slightly confusing. Read The Great Train Robbery and Jurassic Park a couple of weeks ago...all still by Michael Crichton...really nice stuff.

Avenue Q!

Busy weekend...

Friday night, Kevin and I went to Lake Charles because we were going to Houston the next day and didn't feel like driving the entire way on Saturday. Didn't do much Friday night...well...I actually don't even remember what I did Friday night at all.

I woke up Saturday morning at about...8 or so...took a shower, put on makeup, got dressed, and went to pick up Kevin. I had forgotten my GPS navigator thing here in Baton Rouge, so I was like, "oh crap..." and printed out directions from my house to the Hobby Center in Houston, then the Hobby Center to the Galleria, and finally, the Galleria back to my house. Don't really know how, but I managed to miss an exit for the Hobby Center...so we had to try to find our way around Houston...which is full of one way streets that I do not like. Also randomly got lost getting to the Galleria AND trying to find the interstate after the Galleria. on the upside, there was a John Lennon Art Sale Exhibition thing going on in the Galleria....which was cool.

so we saw Avenue Q! How great is that musical? I had heard [and had seen on youtube] "It Sucks to Be Me," "What Do You Do With a B.A. in English?" and "If You Were Gay" before...but yeah, lots of good songs. Also, we totally had front row seats. Don't even ask me how I got that...I just randomly looked up Avenue Q on ticketmaster a couple of weeks ago, searched for Saturday matinee, and saw that they had Row A, seats 101 and 102, Center Orchestra. I kind of sat there gaping at my computer monitor and then got the tickets. AMAZING.

So, um, a few awkward parts in it...especially "You Can Be the Loud as the Hell You Want (When You're Makin' Love)" but it's really, really hilarious.

Robert McClure, who played Princeton/Rod, was absolutely amazing...so was David Benoit, who played Nicky/Trekkie Monster...and Kelli Sawyer as Kate Monster/Lucy the Slut.

and I've become obsessed with "My Girlfriend, Who Lives in Canada" and "For Now."

Came back to Baton Rouge yesterday after spending fall break (Wednesday afternoon-yesterday...Sunday) at home.

So LSU lost to Kentucky in a triple overtime game on Saturday. which sucks. a lot. We dropped to #4 in the rankings and play Auburn at home on Saturday.

Watched Legally Blonde: The Musical on MTV on Saturday...so good. I taped it, too...man, I love musicals...

Alright, so I'm back in Lake Charles for fall break. I came back yesterday and am here until Sunday...so YES.

Started reading The Long Walk by Stephen King (Richard Bachman) for the second time. Also ran by the paper place and my dad's house over here.

Also went and voted today...whoo! early voting...so I'm done with that.

Today definitely felt like Saturday all day...so I was waiting for the game...only to keep remembering that it was in two days.

I began a blog the other day by posting some pictures from Boston. I was like 3/4 of the way finished and the window closed out...so I restored the session, but the post was gone. I got mad and put the pictures on facebook instead...so go look at the lovely Boston pictures, yo.

I turned in my VMCAS form yesterday. Finally finished...good. Well, until the supplemental application is due December 1st. so...done for 2 months.

Went to lake charles this weekend and back to baton rouge today...saw family, etc. It wasn't too exciting, but I enjoyed it.

Guess I'll do the friday 5...

1. What is your favorite (toy) stuffed animal? stuffed yellow rabbit named "puffy" that I got when I was born...I used to swear it was a boy even though it was wearing a skirt. I didn't take the skirt into account...err...I wasn't telling everybody that my rabbit was a crossdresser.

2. What do you think of stuffed animals as gifts? Um...depends on the occasion? I guess I kind of like them, sort of. You never really do anything with them, though. I don't give them, really.

3. What do you do with a stuffed animal you don’t want? Um...give it away? sell it? throw it on the pile of stuffed animals I already have?

4. What are your thoughts on the whole Beanie Babies craze of the nineties? Ha. yeah, I was a part of that.

5. How many stuffed animals do you own? too many. if it helps, none at school...just a real cat. :)

So I'm randomly depressed about something stupid...and I'm about to rant about it.

There is this application on facebook called "compare people" and it's what it says...comparing people based on looks, personality, aptitude, etc. It is basically judging two people on "cooler" or "more intelligent," "more likely to succeed," "funnier," "cuter."

So I know that everybody is all happy when they are voted the prettiest by 4 of their friends! 100%! but what people don't realize is that there is someone who was voted against them as ugly. or just not as pretty. but they are still ranked the lowest in prettiest.

okay, so it's not like my self confidence is built up completely in what facebook people think of me, but it's really harsh when they put you in a percentile of your rankings.

I just wanted to say...why did facebook start the whole application thing anyway? I like the interesting ones...like the movie ones, the ones for supporting a sports team, etc...but most look like they were blatantly ripped off from myspace [which they were] and it's just like, okay...so nice job facebook, you aren't creative enough to come out with anything on your own.

Okay, so I'm updating, but I don't really have that much to say!! so I figured I would do the friday5 from last week.

1. What’s your favorite small office supply (like something that can fit in your top desk drawer)? little post-its. especially if they are in cool shapes...i.e. I have star-shaped ones.

2. What’s your favorite medium office supply (like something that can fit on your desktop)? my stapler. it has different color staples.

3. What’s your favorite large office supply (like a furnishing or a large tool)? up...a hole-puncher, I think? pretty efficient. granted, I think fax machines are pretty interesting...but I don't own one or anything.

Today was interesting. I woke up and rode my bike to archaeology...which I really enjoy. It really is an interesting class and I would probably try to take my teacher again in the spring if she didn't go researching underwater Mayan ruins in Belize every spring.

I then rode back to my apartment and ate a small lunch, put on makeup, made my hair look decent...etc. Went to work and then to Abnormal Psychology...which is way fun. It's really nice having kyle in there because I like knowing someone...and he's cool, so that helps.

Anyway.

I got my cartilage pierced on both ears. This is old news...I got it the Wednesday before I came back to school, so...August 22nd. ha, rock on, 22 is my lucky number...but yeah, most of you have seen me to know this...and if you haven't seen me...well...okay, so I haven't taken pictures of myself yet. robin has pictures of me, but I haven't seen them...I need to ask her about them. I'll post some when I do take pictures. I'm all proud...I really like them.

I want to travel all over the place. I've always felt a longing to go out and see as much as I could of the world, but for some reason I've been feeling it more and more lately. [which is weird as I went to Boston a little less than a month ago and went to Atlanta a couple of months ago.] I don't know. I will go to see as much as I can whenever I can.

Alright, so school began on Monday [yesterday...even though it doesn't seem like it] so um, it's time to update.

PSYC 3082- Abnormal Psychology (can I say how excited I am about a psychology minor? because I am.)

class that I'm most excited about: Mythology! I love it...but the intro to Archaeology class looks like it will be really interesting.

Just to update on my life, I moved into my new apartment last Friday and I am now living with my cat, Edgar. I ride my bike around campus and I'm still really shaky on it...today I tried to get onto the sidewalk and didn't realize it was a little too high, so my bike tire turned instead of going up on the sidewalk and I fell off. yeah...it sucked.

LSU plays Mississippi State in its first game this Thursday, August 30th! We had to play early so that ESPN could show it...so yay. cool. Geaux Tigers! haha

Books, Neil Gaiman...stuff

Alright, well, I haven't posted in a couple of weeks or so, and I'm posting now because I've been looking for new stuff to read. I've been running out of new books to read from my favorite authors because I tend to get obsessive, read everything I can by a person, and then have nothing left to read.

That's what happened to me with Augusten Burroughs and David Sedaris. I'm one book away from it happening with Tom Robbins (unless he comes out with something new, which I hope he does) and now that Chuck Palahniuk has just published a new book, Rant, I still have two books by Chuck to read. And then...my resources are exhausted and I need to move on and find other awesome writers to read.

At the beginning of the summer I started getting worried, so I looked at Hugo and Nebula award winners at the library (dork that I am) and saw a book called American Gods by some guy named Neil Gaiman. It was a pretty good book, and it turns out the author is a pretty cool guy, too. He also wrote the books Stardust and Coraline (the latter starring the ever-creepy Dakota Fanning as a voice), which are both being developed into movies. On top of all that, he helped write the screenplay for the movie Beowulf, which has a lot of potential to be really cool since it will be in 3D in some places. He also has a good blog that he updates just about everyday. Enough about Neil Gaiman, already.

On a different note, I'm still slightly mourning Kurt Vonnegut. It sucks that he's not going to be writing anything else, and that I know that I've read the last book he ever wrote or will write, A Man Without A Country. I really liked it, and I've been intending to buy it but still haven't. Here's a cool thing that the Reveille at LSU printed in the opinion section the day after he died. Make sure you click on it so you can actually read his quotes. Printed on Friday the 13th of April, 2007. I thought I might frame it, and I might, just as a cool little shrine to one my favorite authors who was alive during my lifetime, and now isn't. This section of the post is a bit of a downer, now isn't it?

So I'll change the subject with this: I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I read it slowly compared to everyone else, since it took me over a week, but I finally finished it. And it was good. J.K. Rowling didn't screw it up like she could have, and I liked that added depth to several of the characters. The epilogue seemed a bit forced, but it was decent. This book definitely was a good ending to the series, for me. [That last statement is probably completely unnecessary since everybody reading this has already read and formed opinions of the book for themselves.]

Not much else, only that the point of this post is to ask for any recommendations for books or authors to read. So:

1. What are your nicest and ugliest articles of clothing? umm...nicest...I guess the suit thing that I got for my vet school interview last year. ugliest- shirts that I use when I paint things. those are pretty nasty.

2. What are your favorite and least-favorite things about the city/town you live in? I'm doing lake charles since that's where I am- favorite- seeing people that I don't see often, being around my family, getting to spend time with my animals. least favorite- it's really easy to get bored in lake charles.

3. What were the longest and shortest durations of your romantic relationships? *rolls eyes* longest- 3 years, 7 months. shortest- don't remember the exact amount of time.

4. Who are the oldest and youngest people in your family? um, I'm going to go for immediate family- oldest- my mom's mom at 82 years old, youngest- my cousin's baby at...maybe 2 years old?

5. Who are your neatest and messiest friends? neatest- umm...kevin, I guess. messiest- bleh! adam! remember your trash can when the hall trashcan was right outside of your door? groooooss... The Land of Wal-Mart

[Just FYI, this post was begun on the morning of July 16 at 4:09 AM, finished at 4:29 AM, and posted whenever it says because I forgot my Blogger login info]

Tonight I was in Wal-Mart with Meredith getting a storage tub for her to use to store four thousand or so “teeny beanies” from McDonald’s Happy Meals. And because we decided to go on this venture at a quarter ‘til midnight, there was only one cashier on duty and a longish line, with an equally longish wait to check out.
We enjoyed impromptu fashion shows from bored guys trying on coats and striking poses for their bored friends in line and spent a small while wondering what it means when they say “Attention all associates: Code...uh...*crackle*...Code fifteen.” Hoping it was not code for a lost child or armed robbery, I guessed it was just regular old shoplifting.
Anyway, as we were standing there, I found a shopping list on a shelf, and it made me laugh because of the item at the very top of the list, which was one of only two items not scratched off. Here’s the list (because I took it, since nobody else was using it):
No trouble with chili, tasso, cereal, freezer meat, bacon, tortillas, sliced cheese, and on and on. Of course I thoroughly explored the list, flipped it over, looked at both sides (this list actually seems to be the second draft of the shopping list), and laughed again when I saw a neat to-do list, and a list of non-grocery things to get.

I don’t know why I was so interested, if maybe it was boredom, or if it was just the oddity of seeing a shopping list that wasn’t mine lying there. I don’t even know whose it is, not in the slightest. Why would you care? Beats me. And why do I? I don’t know.

(Maybe it had something to do with being in the barren wasteland that is Wal-Mart at midnight.)

I guess I’m just weird.

Questions from here, like always. I have to point out that I'm not a big fan of these because...um, if these things are unlikeable or whatever, then why would I like them?

1. What’s a gross food you like anyway? all a matter of opinion. I've met lots of people who don't like olives on their pizza, though, and I do...but I am really picky about food in general.

Harry Potter!!

Yay! I went to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix tonight at 7:30. Bayer (the drug company) put on a premier showing for all the vet clinics around here and gave a certain number of tickets to us. It was so cool!! I mean, we went in and watched previews for Advantage and stuff (you know...the flea medicine...you remember the little dog singing commercials? lots of those), and then we watched cool Harry Potter.

So the movie was pretty awesome. I was planning to come back like I did after the last movie and write about everything they did wrong, but now I don't feel like it. I will whenever I feel like complaining...haha. Don't get me wrong- I really liked the movie. It was pretty awesome. I'm sure that most of you will go see it, yes?

I'll give you all a couple of days to see the movie, then I will write about things they did wrong that I didn't like.

Hope you are all having a nice July so far. I'm having a nice one. Other than the fact that a stupid cat bit me at work today. It had already bitten a girl earlier in the day, also. We were cleaning the sutures on its stomach and she was holding it while I was cleaning. We had a towel over its head so that it wouldn't bite us and the towel fell. I picked it up off the floor and I was putting it back on when the stupid thing bit me. So...we called it "demon cat" the rest of the day. stupid thing.

So hey...

been working a lot, as usual. Got to see a c-section on a cocker spaniel yesterday and that was pretty interesting. also got to learn to "sling" puppies, which is where you hold them in your hands and like...at your head level and basically fling your hands down in an arc towards your knees. this gets the fluid out of the puppies' lungs, which you then take out with the squeezie thing...don't have a clue what it's called. you must know the thing...where you squeeze it and then you get liquid out of wherever? you tend to see it in surgery scenes on tv, but those aren't typically used in real life for that.

The iPhone comes out today!! exciting! I'll buy one whenever the price comes down...and hopefully it'll be way better by then..and have branched out to more carriers. Also, Apple's welcome screen that says "Say hello to iPhone" if you just go to www.apple.com is completely awesome.

not doing much. going to make plans for this weekend as it goes along...I finally get to sleep in. yes. awesome. going now, bye,

So today at work, somebody brought in three baby opossums that looked like this. I mean, except that there were 3 of them, of course. So I got to try to get these opossums that couldn't see or anything to drink replacement kitten milk out of a curve-tipped syringe. so...they were cute even though they looked like weird rats. but I got them to hang by their tails on my fingers...and also hang with all four paws on the syringe. which was cool.

that's all. oh yes...kevin and I bought a block of dry ice from market basket yesterday and we went to his house and made root beer [which I didn't try because root beer is nasty]

Recipe: 1 gallon of water, 2 cups of sugar, 2 tablespoons of rootbeer extract, as much dry ice as you want to carbonate the drink

...then we went to my dad's and made 4 dry ice bombs...

Recipe: bottle...we used 2 liter bottles, fill with water to about 1/2 or 3/4 full, put in plenty of dry ice, squeeze the bottle, cap it off, run away.

go look on youtube for an example of dry ice bombs...we did 1 on the ground, 2 in the pool, and the last on the ground with a bucket over it. yeeeeah...haha.

Next, Kevin, Logan, and I put several things in the microwave. It was entertaining...especially the cd and the bar of soap.

Like always, not much has been going on. I've been working almost every day...the last day that I had off was last Tuesday and I have tomorrow off...fortunately. I'm writing this as though it is Saturday even though it is past midnight and technically Sunday. All the barking was driving me insane. barking mad. I understand that expression now. haha...

yeah, so I had to be there at 7:15 this morning. I'm not really...TIRED...right now, but I'm getting there. which means that I'm getting kind of hyper...so if this post starts not flowing so well, it's because of that.

Last night, I went with several people to see Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. It was pretty decent. Better than I thought it would be...I didn't see the first one and this one was still pretty good. after the movie, we went to ihop and I ate delicious pancakes. yum. so did Kelli...except she had blueberry syrup and I had maple...[okay, so I'm going off on random tangents. don't mind me.] ihop has good mints at the cash register. I'm one of those annoying people who grabs a handful and throws them in my purse. I also get disappointed when the mints turn out to be peppermints. um, not that I mind peppermints..but the dinner mints are so much better.

My day was insanely boring, yet surprisingly satisfying. Woke up around 6:40, showered, drove to work...worked until noon, drove home. I then sat on the couch for hours watching a "Dirty Jobs" marathon on the Discovery Channel. Mom is having crown moulding put in, so I didn't feel like getting in the guy's way...and I had to protect the dogs from the loud noises...so my two dogs and I sat around for an extremely long time. At around 8 or so, I started making a blackberry cobbler for my dad for Father's Day tomorrow [normally I wouldn't make a blackberry cobbler randomly, but he requested it, so...done!]

updating! finally. haven't started work yet- actually going in tomorrow [today- Tuesday] at 12:30. not much has been happening lately (I know I say that everytime, but honestly, it's true everytime. my life is really boring.)

went and saw Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End last Thursday...which was it's premiere. kevin and I walked into the 8:00 feature and they had pirates in the lobby of the theatre...and they threw some beads at us and then one of them walked over and put some on me. It was cool and funny. Movie- good, go see it. if not for the plot, then at least for the special effects. I have to recommend watching Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest before going, though. You'll be much more up to date.

I am now sitting here watching Arrested Development. awesomeeee...must borrow the seasons from you sometime, logan.

tonight, went to community band and drove joey with me. it was cool having him there to talk to...and community band will be playing at the arcade pavillion out by the civic center every monday in june. inside the civic center if it rains. I think they start at like 7. so yeah...joey and I went tonight and then I drove him to the bowling alley afterwards..and I came home and felt like seeing how my cat (Napoleon) would react to a bathtub of water. okay, so I'm not abnormally cruel...he likes water...like, if the sink is on, he'll walk over and bat at the water. and he jumps up and drinks out of the toilet sometimes. so I wanted to see and mom said the only way she would let me do that would be if I bathed him, too. so I did. didn't work out so well...he was all soapy and decided that he didn't want a bath anymore, so he jumped out of the bathtub and ran to the door. so there was water everywhere and I had to bring a meowing, soapy cat back to the tub. he was happy with me. then I used the blowdryer to dry him and he actually took that pretty well. he is now soft and pretty.

Hey! Haven't updated- I know, I know. I've been enjoying doing nothing too much to actually do something [reasonably] productive.

Did you hear? Mike V died yesterday at 2:28 am. (In case you didn't know, Mike V is LSU's mascot) Here's an article about it. He will definitely be missed...he was a great tiger.

Went and saw Shrek the Third last night...it was cute. and good. I liked it.

I start work sometime...whenever I feel like it. I think I'll take next week off, then probably start working.

Is anybody going anywhere this summer? I hope to...no plans are set in stone yet, though. Anyway, I'm going to go. bye!

I'm sure that you've heard of the shooting at Virginia Tech by now and I'm not really going to go into anything about that. It's a horrible thing to have happen and I think our whole country is mourning. Just wanted to post this interesting article about the rest of the world criticizing us on our gun laws...I think that for once we need to get over our pride and listen.

I called my potential apartment yesterday to see if I had gotten into it and they were like, "uh, sorry...we can offer you a 2 bedroom apartment." and I was like, "uh...let me talk to my parents." so I called mom and dad and talked and...umm...long story short, the apartment called me today and said they made a mistake and that it was a different meredith that they were looking at. so I did get an apartment. whoo.

Right, so...just after I begin reading his books, Kurt Vonnegut passes away at age 84. Um, not that I believe there is any correlation between those events. I've read Slapstick and Bagombo Snuff Box so far and I'm going to read more when I can. I highly recommend him.

Not much has been happening. I'm back at LSU and just working for these last four weeks of school.

Right, well, so it's been a long time since I last posted. Anyway, something is weird with my computer and I currently cannot post on my comments...but I'll fix that tomorrow. I just don't feel like fixing it now(okay, so I don't know how to fix it now, but I'll figure it out.) So it's Spring Break this week for LSU! YES!! I am insanely happy because I have needed a break for the last two weeks. Now...I am...sitting.

okay. I got a cat! He is black and white...well, he is mostly black, but has white on the bottom of his neck, on his stomach, the tips of his front paws, half of his back paws, white hair in his ears, and white whiskers...but he has a cute little black nose and golden-green eyes. Wanted to name him something along the "James Bond" lines because he looks like he's wearing a tux, but "james" sounds dumb on a kitten (seriously, say "James" in a baby voice), Bond doesn't sound right...so I considered "007" (but that's too long), Aston Martin (or one of those words alone)...and that's it for all the James Bond references. Needless to say, didn't pick any of them. So, you may remember a few posts ago me telling you that I liked the show "The Black Donnellys" on NBC. So I was like, "black cat...should I call him Donnelly?" because I think that is cute...anyway...didn't name him that. instead, named him Edgar. Not really in reference to anything...just because I think it is an interesting name for a cat and because I like Poe. :) So I have a 5 month old kitten named Edgar now.

Tonight was the Barbe Band concert and I was going to go, but I couldn't make it...so I'm sorry, Joey. im/call and tell me about it, please (whenever you get a chance)

Hey! How are you? I know, it's been awhile since I've updated. You'll survive.

I've just been...keeping busy. Last week was absolutely miserable and I spent the whole thing wishing it would be over. I had a Biochem test that sucked and a Genetics midterm...along with random homeworks due...but a good thing about last week was last Tuesday, Kevin and I went to New Orleans to see Billy Joel [his Christmas present from me.] so that was fun. Unfortunately, it was the night before my Biochem exam, so...we'll see what that grade was.

Still waiting on the Vet School letter. It's March! That means it'll be in the mail soon. Hopefully it is good news. I'm hoping.

I went home last weekend and it was very busy. Friday night wasn't so eventful...I ate crawfish with mom...it was delicious. On Saturday, I went to see The Sound of Music and then went to Luna's to meet Logan, Emily, and their friends to celebrate Emily's birthday. I drove them home after that and Logan made me watch "The Black Donnellys." Man! It's a really good show. Watch it. Mondays at 9 on NBC. yeah. or if you miss an episode, go to nbc.com and you can watch the whole thing. which is very cool.

Spring Break is the first week of April, so I'll be home all that time.

Anybody want me to blog about anything? I will! even if it is just a one time event [i.e. Andrew telling me to blog about current events.] so...suggestions? anyway, bye.

Yay! Mardi Gras was great this year...my mom picked me up from LSU on Friday afternoon and we drove over to Metairie (where my aunt lives...it's right outside of New Orleans). So we saw the end of the Knights of Jason parade (like 2 floats), then we walked back to my aunt's house.

The next day, we woke up bright and early to go to the Uptown parade route...saw Iris and Tucks, then went back to Metairie to get ready for the Endymion Extravaganza. haha...well...so we got dressed and everything and rode to the Superdome at about 6. It was AWESOME. We went into the dome and sat at our table, ate, and listened to music until about 8. At 8, the parade reached the Superdome. All the floats paraded through it and threw lots of things for 3 hours, then the entertainment began. At 11, Al Green took the stage for an hour. Next came Taylor Hicks, who was the Grand Marshall of Endymion. He was seriously awesome. After him came Styx at 1:00 am and they were good...they just kept going on and on, though. Next came JOURNEY (who was the Co-Grand Marshall). They took the stage at about 2:15 am...it was very cool. I have pictures, but I had to take them without the flash and it's hard to do that and not have them come out blurry. I'll post some, though. Enjoy... :)

Hey! Yeah, so plenty has happened since the last time I posted. Biggest news is that I got an interview with the Vet School on February 13th at 10:40 am. I'm really excited...and really nervous...but I really hope that it goes well. It's the last step before finding out if we made it.

Also, I went to Atlanta and came back alive. I got back and stayed awake for like four hours, but then slept for 13 hours or something ridiculous. I also got a bag of random stuff from the convention...so yeah.

Went to Hanchey's on Friday with Kevin and we spent the evening playing Guitar Hero II, watching Kevin play a demo of some game...(?), playing Wii Sports, and going to Ihop to not eat breakfast. ha. It was quite fun.

Drove home on Saturday morning(-ish...) (left here at like 11:30 or so). Mom and I went shopping for a suit that I could wear during my interview and also a dress for the Endymion Ball at Mardi Gras. yaaay...

have to go eat lunch now. bye!

Yay! We won the Sugarbowl 41-14 against Notre Dame!

So here is an LSU highlight video...and it's quite good...so go watch it. They are clips of several games...the best part is at 1:22 when true freshman #8 Trindon Holliday returns the kickoff against Arkansas. He just runs past everyone...it's very awesome.

Nick Saban quit his Miami Dolphins job to go be a head coach at Alabama. I have to say this first and foremost- What the hell is this?? Hey, please don't have any loyalty toward the team you built and go be a head coach for one of their rivals- that's really nice of you. In fact, this fox writer says:

"Speaking of Saban, the eternally restless coach — quickly becoming to football what Larry Brown is in basketball — has no personal, moral or ethical credibility left in his pocket. Near the end of another season of coaching carousel madness, Saban has exceeded all of his colleagues — in the pros and the NCAA — as a flat-out liar who leaves organizations in the lurch.

Nick Saban professed his love for LSU, and then bolted to Miami at Christmastime to give Bayou Bengal backers a big lump of coal in their stockings two years ago. Now, after emphatically saying , "I'm not going to be the Alabama coach," Saban is Alabama's coach. The man might as well keep his mouth shut."

I'm actually only updating because Pawel asked why I quit. (it's because there is, quite honestly, nothing interesting to write about...)

so...Merry Christmas! A little while late. Oh yeah. that baking. well crap. you may or may not get that. sorry that I am such a lazy person this break...I'll get better, I promise...

Oh, and Happy New Year! How did you celebrate the new year? Kevin and I went to this party that my dad's neighbors were hosting. It was pretty okay. They had their own big fireworks show, which was pretty awesome. We then went back to Dad's house to shoot our own fireworks, but...watched Little Miss Sunshine instead. [yes, it's good. I already told you to go see it 4 months ago] haha

some people are going to go watch the Sugarbowl tomorrow at Robin's- LSU vs. Notre Dame. GEAUX TIGERS!! YAY!!! I would say some of the people going, but I really have no clue. I must admit that I find it funny that Robin is hosting the Sugarbowl party when she doesn't even go to LSU ;) oh yeah. watch that. It's at 7:00 p.m. on FOX tomorrow (Wednesday). Whoo!

Alright, well, it's a bit after 2am and I am sitting here basically wasting time until I feel like going to bed.

FINALS ARE OVER! YAY!

Got okay grades- good enough for the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine to even consider accepting me. I have to get my transcript there before January 15...yeah. We will see :)

I'm actually pretty happy right now because late at night is when I'm the happiest. so that's pretty nice.

people that I'm going to bake for: you may get your food after Christmas...when I don't feel like sitting around the house all day...(but for now, I am really quite content being as lazy as possible.) I'll update you as the week progresses. Do not blame me- blame LSU for finishing its semester really late.

Went shopping with mom at Target tonight. It was actually pretty fun. We bought lots of stuff [okay, she bought lots of stuff. I helped her pick stuff out- especially stuff for me.]

well, this week began slowly, but has picked up some pace. I'm really glad that tomorrow is Friday, though. Yay for the weekend before finals...(one of the most stressful weekends of the year, yes? but then you are free a week later!)

LAST FEW WEEKS YES!

right. so here are how my last couple of weeks are going to go (tests are the points of reference):

Today: Physics test at 9:30. My recitation teacher said "Turn in your papers" and nobody moved. Someone turned their's in like five minutes later and...I was picking the numbers that looked the best from the multiple choice at the end to turn in. Hopefully everyone else sucked at the test more than I did. See, I got mirrors and lenses...it was the stupid Quantum Mechanics that got me. Why the hell am I expected to know this crap for being a vet? Biology, I can understand. Chemistry, I can understand [as much as I hate to admit it...even though I know that I will never have to know if a molecule is aromatic, nonaromatic, or anti-aromatic to take care of animals]. Physics? NO. Maybe the first semester just for good measure, but their is no reason for us to take 2 semesters of physics for applying to vet school. right.
um.

Next week: Dead week. Not supposed to have any tests or assignments due next week to allow us ample time to study for finals.

Next Tuesday: Chemistry test. Teachers are ALLOWED to give tests during dead week as long as they drop a test. (My dropped test will hopefully be the first one we took, so...I get to study my butt off for this one)

Next Wednesday: Micro lab final. Some classes (usually labs) are allowed to give their finals during dead week. Not too worried about it.

Tuesday during finals week: Micro final. ooooh man. I have to study for this one for a long time. (worried. very.)

Friday of finals week (hell day)- Physics and Chemistry finals on the same day. so...I die. but then I'm free until January.

YES!!!!!!! I can't wait.

I get my 3rd organic chemistry test grade back tomorrow. If I get a C or better on it, I am going to stay in my major and still try to finish the class.

If I don't...then I'm dropping the class and will probably change my major to something else.

Honestly, I think all my stressing for this week (usually we take the exam on Tuesday and get the grades back on Wednesday, but on Wednesday, my professor said we'd get them back Friday) is making me sick.

my weekend

Right, so...I'm going to tell you about my weekend.

A couple of weeks ago, I got the brilliant idea that I wanted to go to The 13th Gate. Why? I don't know. I've hated haunted houses, ghost stories, scary movies, etc. for my entire life and I just randomly decide that I want to go (and drag people with me.) So I brought the idea up with Adam and Kevin and Adam was completely excited about it- saying (I quote) "Yeah! I love haunted houses!" and Kevin was like, "uh. I hate gore." so Adam and I offered to pay for Kevin and he [eventually] agreed to go. So...last Friday, we went.

In the parking lot, Adam looks at me and smiles and says, "Wow! I've never been to a haunted house!" and Kevin and I both go, "YOU SAID YOU LOVED HAUNTED HOUSES!!" and he goes, "well, I've always wanted to go to one!" so...we went in.

We walked into the doors and paid our money and everything and the first thing was Psychosis in 3D where we walked around in 3D glasses and creepy people walked around by us. It wasn't too bad...there were some random panels that opened and people would stick their heads out and scream at you. but we survived, yay.

Well, we stood in line some more and then loaded the elevator. (The "Hellevator") I was completely expecting the top to open and someone to scream at us or a wall panel thing to open...but nothing happened. It was just really bumpy and I ran into a lot of people.

Well, we get out and start walking. The first thing we see is somewhat gory, so I am like, "close your eyes." to kevin. we keep walking and reach a hallway of doors. I looked all around and made sure all of the doors were closed and kept walking. (there was a line of people- adam, kevin, and I were in the back of the line and we were in the order of Adam, me, then Kevin because I wasn't going to be first or last). Well, at the end of the hall, we were turning right so I was going left to see what was going to be around the corner. Suddenly, someone opens the door RIGHT NEXT TO ME and screams. I completely latched onto Adam and Kevin was hanging onto my purse. So...the next room was a little dark. I was avoiding looking at much because I was pretty scared...and I was hiding behind Adam. Well, the person in the room was this girl in a wheelchair and I SAW her see me. She like, pinpointed me because nobody else was scared and I was hiding behind Adam. She proceeds to go, "You have a pretty head. I WANT IT I WANT IT I WANT IT!! GIVE ME YOUR HEAD!!!" while rolling her wheelchair back and forth and thrashing all over the place. and...the line was stopped so we had to endure this for way longer than necessary. At this point, I was still holding onto Adam and Kevin had both of his hands on my shoulders. I don't remember much after this because I was kind of trying not to look while trying to look. I just remember one guy standing against a wall going, "I'm not crazy. Why am I here? I'M NOT CRAZY."

so...after this 1st gate, Kevin goes, "no more. I'm not going through anymore of this." and we asked some lady to help us out. Well, I told Adam to keep going and we'd meet him outside. So...the 13th gate people led us outside and Kevin and I sat on the sidewalk next to these two like...11 or 12 year old girls. One of them looked at Kevin and went, "So who chickened out? you or her?" and Kevin was like, "yeah...I did." and she was like, "really? when?" and kevin was like, "uh...after the 1st gate..." and the girl was like, "oh don't worry, I chickened out after the elevator." so kevin was somewhat comforted.

Well, Adam walked out maybe half an hour later and was like, "the rest wasn't bad!! it was just the first one that was so bad because it was all real people!!" and then he was like, "okay, well, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre was pretty bad. I was last in line so I got chased by a guy with a chainsaw."

THE END. (of the 13th gate story)

After the haunted house, we went to Wal-Mart and shopped for awhile. That wasn't bad...(it was actually pretty fun). We then went to Albertson's because I was buying rose water for my mom to make Lebanese tea. Well, we got the rose water (which is in this pretty glass bottle) and we were randomly walking around the store. At the end of one of the aisles (the opposite end from where we approached the aisle), there was a cone that said "Caution: Wet Floor." So I'm walking...and suddenly I'm on my back. with a shattered bottle of rose water on the floor next to me. Turns out somebody broke a bottle of olive oil (which isn't slippery at all) and it suffices to put a cone telling the customers that there is a wet floor. So I get up and Kevin and Adam are both gawking at me and being like, "ARE YOU OKAY!?!!?" and I'm like, "I'm fine. I need more rose water." Well...I look at my arm (I was wearing a sweater) and it is soaked with rose water (UGH. so I REEK of roses) and has a ton of bits of shattered glass. I also look at my hand which has begun bleeding all over the place. I'm like, "uhhh...I need a bathroom." well...we walk to the bathroom and I kind of clean up my hand...and we go buy the rosewater and leave.

Saturday night- We went to the LSU vs. Fresno State game. Ah, yes, it was pouring. The game was scheduled to begin at 8 and we got there at 6:30 or so...I had a poncho on, Kevin had a jacket that he thought was waterproof (but wasn't) on, and Adam had a trashbag (that only reached his waist and had a walmart bag for a hood). So it's pouring down rain and I'm holding peoples' wallets and cellphones in my pockets because I'm the only one who is dry...and nothing happens for awhile except for a bunch of students standing in the student section in the pouring rain. Well, the band walks into the stadium (YAY!) wearing their ponchos and everyone was like, "Whoo! we're going to play afterall!" so the football team got to warm up for like 10 minutes and then pregame lasted 10 minutes and the game began at about 8:30. We stayed until halftime and then left.

umm...so...I have a physics test tomorrow. and I'm about to go eat dinner. hope all is well with you.

I was just studying Statics (which sucks) and realized that I might just be a bad person. I was reading through my notes for "Chapter 4: Equilibrium of Non-concurrent Systems." The next thing I have is "Motion restriction - handcuffs, gags, ropes, chains."

The class is just boring, so of course my mind goes into the gutter. For instance, the other day the teacher was talking about two-force and three-force bodies. That's fine. Banal, tedious, coma-inducing, you name it...until Jacobs started talking about the members. Now don't worry, I'm not thirteen, the word "member" alone didn't get me. It was when she started talking about the "bent member" and "straight member" that I started shaking uncontrollably from laughter in my desk. That was two weeks ago.

Yesterday, she held up a universal joint and was talking about it being driven by a shaft. Now this made me laugh because for design, I said to Al that a tunnel/groove in the side of our machine would be called a shaft (which was a more fitting word, in my opinion), but he didn't want to say "shaft." So, of course, in statics I turned to Al and said "SHAFT", which got the stranger behind me to start laughing. Then she started on something, I don't know what [Actually, it was "Rigid and Non-rigid Structures"], and of course she referred to the members, two-force members (which was only funny because it has "member" in it), and funniest of all: the weight of your members (on a rigid structure, that is).

I really need to get back to studying.

I woke up really early this morning because I had to be at a testing center at 8:00 a.m. Well, I got there at about 8:05 or so and they were just like, "uh, sign in." so...I did...and then went in to take the test.

I've prepared some so I knew there was a quantitative section, a verbal section, and 2 essays [they give you an argument and you either say that argument was valid or not and they give you a topic and you pick an argument for it.] The only thing was...those books didn't tell me the order of anything. It's not like it meant anything, but I was somewhat thrown for a loop whenever I went in and had to write two essays first, then quantitative and verbal. I think I did okay.

It was on a computer, so...I didn't like that. I got my quantitative and verbal scores immediately after taking it, but they send my essays away to be graded. I just wanted to break 1000 and I did that, so...you don't need to know my exact score. haha.

so that's that. LSU plays Kentucky at home tonight. Yay! bye,

Yeah...so has anybody been keeping up with the North Korea nuclear missile tests? Well, they warned everybody that they were going to test nuclear weapons and the U.N. all said they would punish North Korea if they did this.

Well... they did.

China is quite angry at them and is getting pressure from the rest of the world to impose sanctions on North Korea.

Alright, so upcoming things:

October 1st is the deadline for my VMCAS application (1st application to Vet School.) I've already turned in the application, but I need to get my 3 letters of recommendation to Washington D.C. I'm quite paranoid and I only have 1 to send (I gave addressed envelopes to the other two)...I think I may overnight it or something so that I can be sure it'll arrive on time.

Wednesday, September 27th- Physics test. [that I will kill me. fortunately, he is giving us a formula sheet. yay!]

Next Saturday: football game vs. Mississippi State. ahhh...SEC games are fun. I wrote SEX games and had to go back and change it. heh... bad part about this game: it's scheduled for 11:30 am. Who does this in Baton Rouge, LA in September? It's going to be about eight billion degrees.

Tomorrow (Monday)- free dinner for being the officer of a club...I have to go with Kyle and Emily to listen to how we can lead well. or something. Emily and I then get to leave early (we think) and go to a Pre-Vet Club meeting. so that's exciting.

October 4 (starting at 10pm)- October 8th is fall break and I'm going to Lake Charles.

I got a new roomate- her name is Paula and she is majoring in Mechanical Engineering. She seems nice.

So...school is back in full swing and ruining my life again. Especially marching band. Oh the death. So many stupid football games to go to and watch us lose over and over again. Yay.

But at least none of my classes seem like they're going to be extremely hard yet. Theory III kind of sucks, but I think I can do it.

Ummm...my mom is absolutely set in thinking that I can't drive. Anywhere. She panics if I say that I'm driving to Walmart. And it's really stupid and annoying because I totally drove up here with no problems. So really, if I'm not in Lake Charles and it's not because of a football game, it's probably because my mom forbade me from driving there.

Oh, and I'm dirt poor. Haven't gotten a paycheck yet and I recently had to buy a brand new hardback theory book, so yes. Very very poor. Someone give me money? No? Well fine.

Okay, so I'm liking my own room. The worst part about it is always wondering if I'm going to unlock the door and find someone new randomly living with me. We'll see, though. It's nice how it is, though.

It's amazing how I work so that I can get out of here to work some more until I decide that I want to retire and do nothing until I die. [school is quite difficult and next week is when all of my teachers decided to give me tests.] ...not being cynical or anything. (heh)

Well, we play Auburn on Saturday (at Auburn at 2:30 on CBS). Geaux (LSU) Tigers! Yay!

first week: check

Right, so...done. well, okay. I have an Organic Chemistry class from 1:40-2:30 today. so other than that, finished with first week of second year of college. the first few weeks and the last few weeks all go by incredibly slowly...the ones in the middle go quickly, though. (fortunately.)

Okay, so surprising class: Physics 2. Crap! It's a lot more difficult than I expected it to be. Really sucks.

Not so surprising class: Organic Chemistry. Crap! haha. it's difficult. I'm understand most of the work, though...which is pretty cool. (okay, so we're still in chapter 1. shut up.)

Micro lab should be interesting. We've done some pretty interesting things already...(like testing how well certain soaps work by growing bacteria from before and after we wash our hands.) the bad thing about labs, though, is that I always feel like they are a waste of time. we'll see.

micro lecture- long. it's a tuesday/thursday class, so it's an hour and a half instead of just an hour. I get to sit with Emily in that class, though, so that's nice.

poultry sci 1049/2040- judging won't start until this tuesday and...in 1049, the longest class that we had out of last tuesday and yesterday was about 10 minutes of "taking a quiz to see what you know about chickens and whatever you get right will be bonus." so that was fine with me.

eh, well, hope everyone is fine. I saw Little Miss Sunshine last week (I would link to it, but I linked to it like...last blog, I think.) IT WAS AWESOME. go see it. I'm serious.

I'm about to go to Fall-Fest in the quad...yay for free food, free stuff, and watching the band. (so I actually have free afternoons now since I'm not in tigerband anymore. I do miss it, though. I know that games will be sad...but I still like my afternoons...and I actually have time to study organic. haha)

bonjour...

went to Galveston this weekend with Adam and Kevin...drove over Friday night, ate dinner at the Rainforest Cafe, then went to sleep.

We spent Saturday at Moody Gardens, which was pretty cool. Saw...Sharks 3-D, a stupid 4-D thing about spongebob squarepants...which is the stupidest thing ever...and a motion simulator thing about landing on a comet. also toured the aquarium pyramid, the discovery pyramid, and the rainforest pyramid. all were pretty cool.

On Sunday, we went to Space Center Houston...which was okay. It seemed like it was more geared towards little kids than anyone else. We all bought freeze-dried ice cream, though. eh, well, I didn't like the nasty neopolitan kind, so adam got mine. I ate the mint chocolate chip kind, though. that was decent.

Anybody doing anything this week? I go back to Baton Rouge on Thursday...and other than packing and things like that, I'm free. call if you want.

Oh yeah. I'm completely dying to see Little Miss Sunshine and THEY ARE SHOWING IT AT A THEATER IN BATON ROUGE!!! The closest one last week was in Houston!!!! YES!! happy.

Oh you know school is about to be back in session when Sarah starts having to call and argue with financial aid...

Apparently, I'm not poor enough for work-study anymore, which sucks because it's pretty much impossible for a member of the marching band to find a job that's NOT on campus (since I have basically no free time). So I had to call financial aid and tell them my story of woe then fill out a revision form that was basically me acting like a little rag-girl who lives in a cardboard box and sells matches to passersby. Yes, it's all very sad.

I just want my stupid minimum-wage computer lab job back. Please? Yes?

And I heard that they're trying to raise the minimum wage rates :D So pretty please? I like not being completely dirt-poor.

...but knowing my luck, they'll deny my request because SFA's financial aid office is full of jerks.

So how is everybody doing? Enjoying the summer? ready for school or not so much? I'm ready to be back there...but not ready for the classes.

Yeah, I haven't been doing much. It's been raining like crazy here for the past few days. That, of course, means that I get to walk dogs in that crazy rain. It's...heh...not so fun. I also have kennel duty this weekend and it's supposed to rain here until like...next monday or something. supposedly. bleh.

My dogs and cat are boarding at the vet because some people pulled up our floors yesterday and today and mom didn't want the animals getting out. we found out that something was wrong with the shipment of floor materials, though, so we get to have a house with crappy cement stuff for floors until the shipment comes in. Luckily, we're going to get the animals tomorrow.

I'm way tired. So...I'm going to bed. goodnight.

Eh, well, not much has been happening. I've been going to work nearly everyday. I had yesterday off, though, and Kevin and I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean. (which was awesome...yay.)

So on Wednesday, the vet only worked a half day. (this vet was Dr. Rings because Dr. Ford has been off on a cruise to Alaska for this week). We, therefore, cleaned the clinic for awhile and I left at like...3:40 or so. but that's not my story. This is...so Jenny(a girl who works at the clinic) was sitting in the front and saw a woman walk halfway up the ramp to the front door, then she stopped and walked back to her car. Jenny got up because she thought maybe the closed sign was on the door or something, but the woman just looked at her, smiled, and drove off. Someone called us about fifteen minutes later and said, "um, there's a box on your walkway." so we went out there only to find a box with this really cute grey striped kitten. so...naturally...I fell in love and brought it home. so we kept it here wednesday night and, as I said earlier, I had thursday off, so we kept it all day thursday, also. well, logan came by and he really wanted it, but dad wouldn't let him have it. so my grandma (my mom's mom) took it. so that was good.

umm...Joey's birthday was July 13th and he turned 17, so hooray! happy belated birthday...even though I didn't forget it. I just didn't post on that day.

so yeah, I'm sitting here...being bored...watching the full house marathon on nick-at-nite. isn't that interesting? I'm completely addicted to their late night programming. I used to love fresh prince of belair when I was younger, but I don't really like it anymore. I watch roseanne, the cosby show, and full house on nick-at-nite, though.

and...I get to buy my lsu football student tickets tomorrow. whoo!!

so haven't you cool people been keeping up with the world cup? no? oh, I forgive you...it's okay...sure, sure.

just to get you up to speed-- we are down to the final 8. These teams are: Germany, Argentina, England, Portugal, Italy, Ukraine, Brazil, and France. So now those people (just put them into pairs...in that order) will play each other over the next several days to get final 4, then 2...then...you know. So go Germany!!

Anyhow, my life has consisted of...waking up, going to see what the score is in the current game of the world cup every morning, watching a little, taking a shower, watching the end of the game, eating lunch, going to work, working forever, then coming home and checking the score of the game that I missed while at work...and then...doing whatever that night.

yeah...I haven't had a day off of work in forever. think I'm kidding? oh, no, I definitely had kennel duty last weekend which meant that I had to go to sulphur twice saturday and twice sunday to feed and walk dogs. and bathe dogs. and give dogs medicine. etc, etc, etc.

so I'll stop complaining now. byeeeee,
